Mango Pineapple Green Smoothie

I think I’ve got a little bit of spring fever. The clocks have turned forward, the weather has teased us with a few days of warmer temperatures and the tops of the tulips have come up.

A good green smoothie sounds perfect this morning. With St. Patricks Day just around the corner, this green smoothie recipe is perfect for getting into the spirit of the holiday.

My recipe for green smoothies includes mango, pineapple and spinach. When mangoes and pineapples go on sale at my local market, I’ll usually stock up. My local Sprouts had the pineapples on sale for .99 each and the mangoes for .50 each. When I get home I get chopping and freeze it all. I get a big bag of fruit that traditionally costs less per serving than buying an already made frozen bag.

I promise this green smoothie is going to be a hit in your house! Serve it for breakfast on St. Patrick’s Day. It will be a great way to introduce your kids to healthy cooking with vegetables and they won’t even know that they’re drinking something good for them.
