Strawberry Sauce {Trying It Tuesday}

Heeeelllllooo strawberry season!! Technically anytime of the year is strawberry season for me. I love them in cookies, for breakfast, in cerealice cream and I’ve even made jello out of them.

But I haven’t shared a recipe for strawberry sauce. This strawberry sauce recipe takes under ten minutes to make and is a must have for topping cakes, biscuits, waffles and pancakes. I’m sure I’ll find more uses for it, but those are my favorite.

Strawberry season is here and this strawberry topping will get used over and over again!

Strawberry Sauce {Trying It Tuesday}

  • 1 pound strawberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar (I used coconut sugar, but white can be used)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons lemon or lime juice

  1. For the strawberries: Wash, remove stems and cut each strawberry into quarters before placing in a saucepan.
  2. Pour sugar, water and lemon or lime juice into saucepan.
  3. Bring the mixture to a simmer, and allow to cook for 7-10 minutes, or until strawberries are tender. Stir mixture, and if strawberries begin to break apart, the sauce is done.
  4. Remove from heat and continue stirring until mixture becomes coarse, or for a more even sauce pour into a blender and mix for 10-15 seconds until mixture is smooth.
