Flower Seed Paper Bouquet {Mother’s Day}

Mother’s Day is this weekend and today I’ve got an easy craft that is simple and fun to make! This Flower Seed Paper is so pretty.

Really fun, because you get to make a MESS!!!

You only need four things: Flower seed packets, colored scrapbook paper, water and peat pots.

Give it to that special someone in your life, have her plant it, water it, and in a few weeks beautiful flowers will grow in it’s place.

Unless you are me and spend unreal amounts of money planting this gorgeous garden only to have weeds grow. I’m on seven years of black gardening thumbs.

Whoever thought of putting seeds in paper was brilliant. Look how pretty these look. They are almost too pretty to plant. Because if you are me, you’ll somehow grow grass or weeds where flowers or beautiful vegetables should grow.

But I’m not bitter.

Colored Scrapbook Paper

Peat Pots or Baby Food Jar

Flower Seed Packets

Rolling Pin

Wax Paper

Popsicle or Lollipop Stick

Mini Glue Gun

Tear the colored scrapbook paper into small pieces before placing in the blender. Add equal parts of water and paper to the blender. Turn on blender and blend on high until mixture becomes slushy. Add more water if necessary.

Pour slushy paper mixture from the blender into a colander to allow water to drain from paper. Drain for several minutes. Once water has drained, sprinkle the mixture evenly over a piece of waxed paper. Place another piece of waxed paper on top. Use a rolling pin to flatten the paper to 1/8 inch thickness or less.

Remove the top sheet of waxed paper and sprinkle the flower seeds evenly over the paper. Place the waxed paper on top again, then use the rolling pin to roll over the waxed paper, pressing the flower seeds into the paper. Remove the top sheet of waxed paper and allow the mixture to dry. This may take up to several days depending on temperature.

Once paper has dried, use scissors or an xacto knife to cut out desired shapes. Use a mini glue gun to attach a lollipop or popsicle stick to the flower. Tie with a ribbon, then place the flower into the peat pot.
