Homemade Fruit Snacks

These healthy fruit snacks are ready to eat in under ten minutes!

I’ve tried quite a few different homemade fruit snack recipes. Some want you to boil the fruit mixture together. This one doesn’t. It’s ready to go in under ten minutes and is perfect for your kids lunches! These are great because they don’t have any dyes, additives or corn syrup in them.

Our kids took them to school and shared them with their friends. Everyone loved them and thought they were great! We opted for raspberry lemonade fruit snacks but have also made strawberry, cherry, orange and mango.

When I was growing up it always seemed that I never got to eat what the other kids did. When other kids got to eat chocolate chip cookies, I ate styrofoam carob cookies. My goal is to allow my kids to eat healthy, stay within budget and introduce them to foods that can be just as great tasting as their unhealthy counterparts but better for them.

Yield: 72 bite sized pieces

Homemade fruit snacks with no artificial colors, sweeteners or ingredients and ready in under ten minutes!

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup fruit concentrate
  • 1-2 tbsp honey
  • 4 .25oz packets grass fed gelatin (3 1/2 tbsp)
  • Molds

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, pour the 2/3 cup thawed frozen concentrate, the honey (to taste) and the gelatin.
  2. Heat the saucepan to medium, stirring with a whisk until the gelatin is dissolved.
  3. Pour the liquid into the molds. Place molds in the refrigerator and allow the gelatin to set up. Once set, remove from molds and store in an airtight container for up to a week in the refrigerator or at room temperature.

Notes

* It was recommended on several sites not to use a juice containing pineapple. * Decorative fun molds can be found in the dollar spot areas at stores like Walmart and Target, or at stores like Dollar Tree.
