Breaded Applesauce Dijon Pork Chops

An amazingly mouth watering pork chop recipe with a hint of apples and dijon. 

This is one of my favorite days of the month. As part of the Secret Recipe Club, I get to surprise someone by making and then highlighting one of their recipes from their own site.

Today I’m featuring Renee of Kudos Kitchen by Renee. She combines art and cooking. I had a hard time choosing. She makes amazing recipes like these incredible looking Caramel Apple Cupcakes.

I opted to go with her breaded applesauce dijon pork chops.  I love apples in fall, and this was the perfect recipe to combine fall cooking and a wimpy husband.

Yes, he is wimpy when it comes to eating his fruits and vegetables. He doesn’t like apples, so I really loved this recipe because it gives a light hint of apples and dijon. I went crazy and added a few apples on top. I love my apples in the fall.

Breaded Applesauce Dijon Pork Chops


  • 4 boneless pork chops
  • 4 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 1/2 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 3 cups bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, for seasoning


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. On a plate, pierce the pork chops all over. Flip the pork chop and pierce the pork chop on the other side.
  3. On each pork chop, pour approximately one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar on both sides.(A lot will drip off. that's okay). Allow the pork chops to sit for ten minutes.
  4. While the pork chops are sitting: In a small bowl or on a plate mix the applesauce, mustard, ginger and garlic. In a lightly greased baking dish, pour half the breadcrumbs evenly over the bottom of the dish.
  5. When the ten minutes are up, pat each pork chop dry with paper towels. Spoon some of the applesauce mixture onto both sides of the pork chops, then place the pork chops on top of the breadcrumbs in the baking dish. When finished dipping pork chops, sprinkle the remaining bread crumbs evenly on top of the pork chops.
  6. Drizzle each pork chop with a small amount of olive oil.
  7. Sprinkle a small amount of salt and pepper on top of the pork chops.
  8. Bake at 375 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until the pork chops are no longer pink.
  9. Remove from oven and cover the pork chops with aluminum foil and allow to sit for several minutes before serving.
