Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Smoothie

What better treat awaits than a delicious pumpkin chocolate chip smoothie? Have it for breakfast, snack time or an after dinner treat.

Have you ever noticed when the kids get home they do three things?

1. Dump their stuff right inside the doorway causing an obstacle course for you when you get home.

2. Raid the fridge. And they don’t just raid the fridge willingly for carrot sticks and dip. They seem to gravitate towards the sugary and carbohydrate filled foods lurking in the fridge and cupboards. After a long hard day of studying and thinking glucose levels are lower and they want to replace them quickly with a carb or sugar laden snack.

3. Sit. I’m thinking of investing in cattle prods to get them off the couch but that would probably be illegal so I instead resort to flipping off the television and spending the rest of the afternoon trying to redirect them to outdoor activities, homework and chores.

It’s exhausting work as a parent but I love it.  I also love when they come home and I can hand them a treat that tastes just as good as it looks. This pumpkin chocolate chip smoothie is the perfect treat. They can grab it and sip it as they head off to wherever they are going. Make this delicious healthy pumpkin recipe before pumpkin season ends! (Which it doesn’t in my book).
