Merry Christmas 2013–A Burnt Moment

We are taking the day off to enjoy with our family.

We thank you for all of your support, love, and kind words and are looking forward to a wonderful 2014 year.

This Christmas has been a busy one. We’ve baked lot’s of goodies–some that turned out and some that didn’t. But honestly, I would have to change the name of the website if everything had turned out, so I’m happy to say that the name will stay the same. Also, because of the photo on the right, I almost needed a new garbage disposal. Luckily, the husband came to the rescue and fixed it…again.

We also made lot’s and lot’s of Christmas presents. Lot’s. And stomped through the snow to deliver them all to friends. For the rest of you–I went to the mailbox at the end of the driveway. Which was tough for me, because it was so cold. And snowy, so I couldn’t do my usual sprint to the mailbox and back before I actually realized how cold it really was. No, I had to embrace it. That’s what I call sacrifice and love.

We also had a great holiday season with our elf visiting us. Everyday brought a new adventure and a new hiding spot. ┬áThe kids woke up one morning to their rooms engulfed in toilet paper. I’m sure it brought out the inner junior high in our elf. Our elf got in a lot of trouble from Barbie and the army men this year. Here he is being held hostage from the army men. The night before that he was taped to our travertine backsplash with the army men holding him at gunpoint. I think they found him. Army men 2, Fizzy our elf, 0. Maybe next year Fizzy.

And yes, I sent these out to family and friends. (See sacrifice above). A card of this caliber needs to be sent. I’m proud of our family’s first cheesy, pun filled themed Christmas card. Don’t worry family, we’ll get back to our regular professionally done cute family Christmas cards next year. Maybe in ugly Christmas sweaters? Okay, I’ll stop!

But now it’s time to sit back, relax by the fire and sip hot cocoa while the kids and dogs play around us. We hope you and your family had a very merry holiday season. Thank you for everything!
