Slow Cooker Open Faced Turkey Breast Sandwich + Giveaway

Slow Cooker open faced turkey breast sandwiches are an easy weeknight meal or simple game time sandwich.

Today I’m sharing one of my secrets. This is one of my easiest slow cooker recipes that I make over and over again and always get compliments on. It’s a tender turkey breast slow cooked all day than shredded and placed a top a slice of crusty french bread, a slice of provolone cheese and smothered in a rich gravy. The turkey is allowed to slow cook in a bed of fragrant spices like basil and oregano and allows the turkey to become tender and moist with little to no work on your part.

This time around we had the opportunity of using the Hamilton Beach Set ‘n Forget® 6 Qt. Programmable Slow Cooker With Spoon/Lid . We decided to make the turkey breast sandwich for a football game that landed on a night with my school, soccer practice, band practice and Taekwondo. Whew! With the fall weather in full swing we know your house is probably even busier than our house is.

The Hamilton Beach Set ‘n Forget® 6 Qt. Programmable Slow Cooker  has been a life saver on those busy days that you just can’t catch more than a minute or two in the kitchen. I just set the program to what I am cooking and go. The slow cooker will automatically switch over to warm when cooking is done. No worries, no stress about running home if the soccer game runs late. It even includes a meat probe to test and make sure the meat is the proper temperature before serving. And you can still manually cook your food by setting the slow cooker to “low” or “high.”

We know fall is busy and it’s just as crazy so to get you back to cooking, today, we’re giving away one of these to YOU!

  • 1 loaf french bread
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • For the Gravy:
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 1/2 tbsp beef bouillion
  • 1 cup broth (use the broth from the turkey if desired. You may want to decrease the bouillion to 1 tbsp to avoid an overly salty taste.
  • 2 tbsp flour

  1. Place the turkey breast in the slow cooker. Sprinkle the onion soup mix, water, and spices over the turkey evenly.
  2. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or set your Hamilton Beach Set n' Forget Programmable Slow Cooker to low for 6-8 hours. The meat probe should read 165 degrees for doneness. (Insert the meat probe into the thickest part of the turkey to check).
