Chocolate Dipped Brownie Bites + Dairy Free Version!

These delicious chocolate dipped brownie bites are melt in your mouth full of chocolatey goodness!

I’ve never been that big into Valentine’s Day. My anniversary was a couple of weeks before Valentine’s Day so it never seemed that big of a deal to celebrate Valentine’s Day on top of my anniversary. I also never saw the need for celebrating the holiday. I was secure in being single and never gave a thought to the holiday at all.

I would stop by See’s though. or dip some strawberries in chocolate. There is always a need for chocolate and I will say Valentine’s Day does get kudos for being a great holiday as an excuse for eating chocolate. Chocolate anytime is a good thing.

the tradition in our house for the kids has always been to wake up to a Valentine’s surprise by their bed. As the kids have gotten older and their palates have become more decidedly expensive towards chocolate, so has they type of chocolate I’ve had to buy for them to wake up to. This year our kids got candy hearts with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, one got Kit Kat’s and the other got a chocolate assortment. And then of course the tradition of Valentine’s pancakes, bacon and eggs for breakfast.

  • 1 box brownie mix, any kind. (follow the instructions for making an 8x8 inch pan). Or you can use our [homemade naturally sweetened brownie mix][] recipe or your favorite brownie recipe
  • 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips (can use dairy free)
  • 1 12 oz bag semi sweet chocolate chips

  1. Bake the brownies according to package or recipe instructions. When the brownies have baked, remove from oven. Allow brownies to cool for 5-10 minutes before taking a fork and turning the brownies into crumbs. Mix in the 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips to help mold the brownie mix together.
  2. Using a spoon and your hands, form tablespoon sized balls of brownie batter and place on a plate. Place the plate in the freezer and allow to freeze for 20-30 minutes.
  3. After 30 minutes, melt the bag of chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl or using the stovetop method. Using a toothpick or fork, dip each brownie into the chocolate, coating all sides and allowing excess to drip off. Place the brownie bites onto a sheet of waxed paper, sprinkle with sprinkles or decorations if desired and allow to harden completely. Store excess brownie bites in an airtight container.
