Happy 4th of July! Yesterday we got up early to see the balloons. Well, just the youngest and I. The two oldest drew the line in the sand about waking up at 5:30 in the morning. But every year whether any one comes or not I head down to the hospital that I worked at for ten years to watch the balloons launch every 4th of July.
I've watched them from the windows of the hospital with patients, I've run past them with a baby in the stroller, and I've dragged tired grumpy kids down to the field to watch from blankets.
Whatever way I've gone, it's always been fun. I've been going since my college days, and it's now a tradition for me.
We hope that you have a safe and happy 4th of July! Happy birthday America!
