You all know my love for Japanese food. It runs deep and I really could enjoy it almost every day if I could. While this apple cinnamon Japanese breakfast rice bowl isn't considered "traditional" it is something my mom would make when my Japanese friends would spend the night. And they loved it!
I made it look more traditional. My mom when serving us would just throw in rice, applesauce and cinnamon and maybe some raisins and call it good. This also became one of my favorite meals to eat when I was not feeling good.
I made this more traditional by adding a fried egg--you can add hardboiled, sunnyside up, scrambled or any type of egg you want for some added protein.
Delicious!
