One of my son's favorite morning routines is his chocolate peanut butter smoothie. It's his alternative to a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or a peanut butter and honey sandwich. He will eat a HUGE bowl of cereal in the morning and follow it with a sandwich or this smoothie. But whatever he eats, his daily routine always includes something with peanut butter.
Since he's growing (like a weed!!) I try to make sure that he is eating the best that he can. This chocolate peanut butter smoothie is good for him and is naturally sweetened. It also includes antioxidants (chocolate!), fruit (banana) and protein (peanut butter). You can easily substitute almond or sunflower butter in place of the peanut butter though.
Get your blender out and ready, because the kids are going to love this!

- 1 banana,frozen
- ¼ cup milk (substitutes okay)
- ¼ cup nonfat plain greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp peanut butter
- 1 tbsp cocoa
- 2-3 tbsp honey
