Making Ranch Crackers
My son is all worried that the Superbowl might get cancelled this year due to snow. My little boy and I read all the facts on the Superbowl and what will entail to make it go on as planned. Machines to melt multiple thousands of tons of snow, heat lamps, plows and machines to salt. I've been able to convince him the Superbowl will go as planned.
And that means we're safe to make up our Superbowl menu! My husbands family usually enjoys these crackers at Christmas time. Ranch oyster crackers are the perfect grab and go snack, taste great and will take you just a few minutes to make!
Ingredients
For this recipe you will need:
- 5 cups oyster crackers
- 1 package (1 oz) ranch dressing mix (we used Simply Organic Ranch Dip, but Hidden Valley or store brand generic ranch dressing would work too)
- ¼ cup oil
- 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
Instructions
To make your ranch crackers, all you need to do is:
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
- In a bowl, mix together the ranch dressing packet, oil and dill weed. Stir to combine.
- Add in the oyster crackers, tossing to coat evenly.
- Pour the crackers onto a baking sheet and place in a 250 degree oven for 20 minutes. Stir once during cooking. Remove from oven, allow crackers to cool completely before placing in an airtight container to store. Crackers will stay good up to one week.
*Note, the recipe says preheat to 350 then 250. Just preheat the oven to 250 degrees!
Additional Tips
Can I use different types of crackers?
Yes! You can experiment with different types of crackers for a different texture and flavor. Try using saltine crackers, Ritz crackers, or even mini pretzels!
What other types of seasonings can I use?
If you love the flavor of ranch seasoning, feel free to add more to the recipe. You can also experiment with other seasoning mixes like taco seasoning or Italian seasoning.
Can I make these spicy?
If you like your snacks with a little bit of heat, try adding some cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the seasoning mixture. You can even use a spicy ranch seasoning mix.
Storing
To keep your ranch crackers fresh and crispy, store them in an airtight container or sealable plastic bag. They stay fresh for a couple of weeks!

Ranch crackers are great on their own, but they also pair well with dips like hummus, guacamole, or ranch dressing.
