There is nothing better than a good slice of bread and butter. I don't really crave bread and butter during the summer when it's 90+ degrees outside. So I swap it up and dip my butter in some flavored oil. It's a fresh and delicious alternative to a hot slice of bread oozing in butter.
My mouth is watering, and I'm digressing.
Back to summer.
And the air conditioner that is not working right now.
So tonight as a light and simple meal I sliced a loaf of bread and mixed up some European Extra Virgin Olive Oil, some garlic powder and a little bit of fine parsley for a delicious dipping oil.
Today, as part of the Flavor Your Life campaign, we are using European Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Did you know?
- Olive oil should be stored in a cool, dark pantry away from heat and light which causes decay. 57 degrees is the ideal temperature for storing your oil
- Keep your oil stored away from the heat of the stove or on the countertop.
- Use your olive oil within six months of opening.
So grab your fresh loaf of bread, slice it up and start dipping!
For a great dinner idea, try slicing bread and arranging it on a cookie sheet. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese than place under a broiler until cheese is melted and bread is lightly browned. Remove from oven and serve with flavored olive oil (we used olive oil mixed with garlic powder and fine parsley to taste).
