It's time to get the grill out, unless of course you live in one of those unfortunate areas where any major holiday brings hail, rain or even snow. Then you can still get your grillin' on, you just have to do it indoors. Which unfortunately isn't as fun but hopefully you can still have a great holiday.
When I was in my teens my parents decided to buy a tent trailer. Everytime we took that stinking tent trailer out it would not just rain. It would pour. Dump buckets. Flashes of lightning would be hitting in the campground and my dad would be yelling orders like "seal the trailer, SEAL IT!!!!" Every little piece of velcro had to be taped just so or your tent would become part of the storm. Unfortunately he always seemed to have the lantern and would be running around checking all the velcro strips while we feebly attempted to place velcro over metal with each flash of lightning.
Yes, it would be called a miracle that I am alive and writing this today. It was also magic. Magic that about twenty minutes after we were settled in our wet sleeping bags we hauled from the back of the car into the trailer the rain stopped and the flashes of lightning and deafening screams of thunder stopped. ALWAYS.
So for those of you grilling inside this weekend, I feel your pain. Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend and we will see you back on Monday!
