Guilt Free Frozen Foods for You Children

June 24, 2019 by burntapple Leave a Comment

Summer is not slowing down AT ALL for me. I've got a fun event coming up in a couple weeks that has been pretty time consuming (but includes LOT'S of new recipes!) Today while I start prepping and shopping for our big family event I've got Olivia from Yumble Kids filling in for me. She's talking about frozen foods for your children that are guilt free! (And most of the products she mentions we use and find coupons to save even more money towards!)

Frozen Foods For Your Children Minus The Guilt

Every parent wants their kids to be healthy, and you want  to make sure they get their nutrients. So, it’s no surprise you consider the health benefits (and potential health detriments) of all the meals you serve.

In other words, you probably don’t feel comfortable serving up frozen food if you can avoid it. That’s an understandable attitude to have. Frozen food doesn’t have real nutritional value, right?

Sometimes. But you may be surprised by just how healthy some frozen meals can be. The following are noteworthy healthy meals for kids  you could absolutely serve your family without feeling an ounce of guilt!

    Kashi Original 7 Grain Waffles

Waffles aren’t just for breakfast when you’re a kid. Plenty of children love waffles as a snack at any time of day.

The problem is, frozen waffles, made with refined flour, don’t have any significant nutritional benefits, and could put your children at risk of developing such conditions as diabetes.

That doesn’t mean your kids can’t enjoy waffles when they want. Kashi Original 7 Grain Waffles make for a frozen treat that offers children a quality serving of fiber and omega-3 fatty acids.

    Caulipower Margherita Cauliflower-Crust Pizza

Keeping the average kid away from frozen pizza for life can be a tough task. It may get even harder as your children get older! Pizza isn’t the type of snack kids tend to grow out of, and when it’s frozen, they’ll learn to make it for themselves pretty quickly.

Luckily, you can allow them to indulge their pizza craving without worrying about the impact it will have on their health. Caulipower offers a frozen pizza with a cauliflower crust that contains a lot less sugar than most, while also providing your kids with essential nutrients from its vegetable ingredients.

Trader Joe's Reduced Guilt Mac & Cheese

Childhood obesity can lead to a range of health problems in the future. Knowing this, odds are good that you take the necessary steps to avoid serving your kids meals with too many calories.

That’s not exactly easy when your children (like so many others) love mac and cheese. Trader Joe's Reduced Guilt Mac & Cheese makes it a little easier thanks to having 65% less fat and 25% fewer calories than most other major frozen mac and cheese brands.

So Right Szechuan Style Kung Pao Chicken

Meals need to be balanced to provide kids with all of the nutrients they need. That’s what makes this option a great choice when you have to serve something quick. It contains natural white meat chicken and an assortment of vegetables, without the preservatives that are so often used in frozen dishes.

Good Food Made Simple Turkey Meatball

Spaghetti and meatballs is another meal kids tend to love. Sadly, meatballs made with ground beef are very high in both fat and calories. Good Food’s frozen turkey meatballs make for a much healthier substitute.

Keep an eye out for these items the next time you’re in the frozen food aisle. Serving frozen meals definitely helps busy moms save time. If you don’t think you can justify this time-saving tactic because you want your kids to be healthy, it’s important to remember that not all frozen food is bad.

In fact, these examples prove you can supply your kids with nutrition while focusing on other tasks when you’re too busy for meal prep.
