It's Friday! I'm excited because my husband comes home from a business trip and it's time to think about dinner. Maybe you're thinking takeout tonight--like a trip to your local KFC restaurant on the way home from work.
Well DON'T!!
I've got the most incredible KFC Fried Chicken recipe! The recipe tastes just like the famous restaurants fried chicken recipe, but tastes even better! It's baked and uses chicken breasts instead of it's fattier skinned version.
Seriously, how many of you don't get to enjoy the batter because you take off the skin?
I know, it's unfair! But now you don't have to feel left out. This is a great boneless chicken breast recipe that you can enjoy with your family tonight!
This healthier KFC Fried Chicken recipe is sure to become a Friday night hit in your house!
Recipe adapted from Our Life Uncommon
Now you can enjoy the original KFC fried chicken breast recipe in a healthy, baked form that tastes just as great as the fried version!
Ingredients
- 4 whole chicken breasts
- ½ cup skim milk
- 1 cup unbleached all purpose flour (or white whole wheat flour)
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tbsp Mortons season all
- ¾ tsp pepper
- ½ tsp salt
- 4 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a 9x13 inch pan, cut up the butter into tiny pieces. Place the pan in the oven to melt the butter, then remove once butter has melted.
- Meanwhile, in a large bowl mix together the flour, paprika, season all, pepper and salt. Stir to combine.
- In another small bowl place the milk. Dip each piece of chicken in the milk, then dip each side of chicken in the flour mixture until the chicken is evenly coated.
- Place the chicken in the baking dish and continue until all chicken has been dipped. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Turn chicken over and bake on the other side for an additional 20 minutes before removing from oven. Serve with corn, coleslaw, biscuits and honey butter, or mashed potatoes and gravy
How much butter do I use? Can't wait to try it!!
I would use about 4 tablespoons. Just enough to coat the bottom of your pan when melted. Enjoy!
Yum - looks delicious! I know the hubby will love this!
This looks like the kind of thing that my kids would love!
This looks so good, and I agree, it looks like something my kiddo would LOVE! (And we would, too). Adding this to the menu to try next week!
PS - I totally intended to reply on Karen's blog for her SRC post, whoops! But really, it shows how awesome the recipe sounds - I was so intrigued by her post that I clicked over to see your post that inspired it! =D
Can you use skinless breasts?
Yes, absolutely. That's what I use everytime I make them.
Thanks.
By the way....I tried you little Caesars cheese bread recipe it was a hit with my family. I did kinda cheat and used pills bury pizza dough for this recipe. Lol..but I will try your one hour bread recipe once I get my mixer out of the box.
Thanks Amit, I'm glad you enjoyed it! No problem on the premade dough. 🙂 I love the one hour bread recipe. I use it for pizza dough, rolls, bread, cinnamon swirl bread....pretty much everything bread. Hope you're having a great day!
