Yes, I am a lucky mom.
Most days are busy, hectic and crazy. Through it all I just keep thinking how fast time is flying by. I have a preteen now and the kids just keep growing so fast. Time is not allowing me to bottle my kids up at these adorable ages and keep them there. No, time just speeds up.
There are a lot of days I wonder if I'm doing a decent job. I feel so rushed, so busy and so stressed that I wonder if I'm really giving the kids what they need--me. The gift of my time, my listening ear and my attention.
There are other days that a simple "I love you" makes my day. It also helps that I remembered to run over forgotten lunches to the school, got the kids to school on time and even got the toddler off for a nap so I could get the kids clothes washed and folded. Miracle!
It's the sweet blessings that come from a compliment from others on how much they enjoy having my child in their class, the act of service my son or daughter performed for a struggling neighbor, and the comment from strangers on how well behaved my kids are. (Ha!)
It's knowing that through all the bad and good days I've got three wonderful reasons (and a husband and two canines) that make coming home completely worth it. I love my life and wish I could keep everyone at the age they are now. They are so special and mean the world to me.
Happy Mother's Day from our family to yours.
