Sourdough Bread and Alfredo-The Perfect Combination
There is something about going back to San Francisco every year that makes me happy. I love the vibrancy of the city and the history. I love the noise, the uniqueness and the diversity.
Not only did we honeymoon there years ago, but we still get the chance to go back every once in awhile for work. We always jump at the chance.
Boudin Bakery for Sourdough
One of the reasons is Boudin Bakery. My husband swears he is a sourdough expert and that they make the perfect bread. Crispy on the outside, with a soft airy interior and tangy sourdough flavor.
This time we loaded up an entire box of sourdough loaves to take home to grandma and grandpa as a thank you for watching the kids. Of course, my husband kept a few loaves for himself. When we brought our loaves home, my husband showed the kids one of his favorite recipes his grandmother introduced to him. This is a multi generational recipe today.
Making Sourdough at Home
Just a note: You don't have to use Boudin Bakery bread, but they do offer delivery of their fabulous products. We love the animal shaped loaves. So cute! While they won't deliver my favorite sourdough fish tacos or sourdough apple pie, they do deliver a wide variety of their delicious breads.
You can also make this sourdough from home! Just try one of these recipes!

Two of my favorite things but unfortunately not two of the most healthy things, darn!!! I will be eating bread tomorrow 🙂
I know. Since I got home from my trip I've been logging the miles outside running. Hope you're doing good Heather!

How is it raised and baked?
So for this recipe we bought a loaf of sourdough bread, so it was already raised and baked when we bought it. For specifics on Boudin Bakery and how they prepare their bread, you can go here: https://boudinbakery.com/ If you are looking for a quick sourdough recipe from scratch I have one here: https://burntapple.com/boudinsourdoughcrackers/ I've used it with gluten free flour too and it works great! Hope that helps and keep me posted on how it turns out!
