Having kids seems to bring back the joy of a holiday I largely tried to forget during the awkward junior high and high school years. Val-o-grams brought to me in a junior high class from a secret admirer. Flowers brought to me from a boyfriend in the middle of a high school class. Seriously? Did not one boyfriend or secret admirer ever get that a way to my heart wasn't through expensive dying foliage, but chocolate? CHOCOLATE.
Now I get to sit back and enjoy Valentine's Day, watching my kids address Valentine's to friends and attach little pieces of candy to each card.
While addressing Valentine's we once again decided to break out the doughnut maker. What started as a simple project turned out to be an afternoon of making all sorts of different doughnut creations.
Each chocolate doughnut is filled with extra chocolatey goodness. Mini chocolate chips are sprinkled inside. We made glaze for the doughnuts and colored it pink and dipped doughnuts in crushed Valentine M&M's. Yum!
