    Wingers Sticky Finger Salad

September 3, 2014 by burntapple Leave a Comment

Winger's restaurant is one of my favorite Utah places to visit. The Winger's Sticky Finger Salad is one of my favorite dishes.  I opt for the grilled chicken in mine but the sticky fingers are delicious too. And the sauce? The sauce is AMAZING! Freaking amazing if you ask the restaurant. You can now buy the sauce at Macey's or Harmon's if you live in Utah, or you can order it online or make it yourself at home. Seriously, you've not had a sauce like this--the perfect combination of sweet and spicy and only two ingredients.

The salad is relatively easy to throw together. You just need lettuce, cranberries, tomatoes, chicken, Winger's sauce and cheese. It's delicious and the perfect busy weeknight salad.

If you find you love the sauce, try it on these amazing recipes:

    Yield: 1 salad

    Serving Size: 1 serving

An amazingly healthy version of America's Freaking Amazing Chicken Salad recipe!

    Ingredients

      For the Sauce:
    • ⅓ cup Frank's original hot sauce
    • 1 ½ cup brown sugar, raw sugar or coconut sugar (note if using coconut sugar the flavor may change slightly)
    • 1 tbsp water
    • For the Dressing:
    • ¼ cup ranch dressing
    • 4-5 tbsp Winger's sauce
    • For the Salad:
    • 1 boneless skinless chicken breast cooked and cut into thin slices
    • ⅛ cup shredded mozzarella cheese (can substitute reduced fat)
    • ⅛ cup shredded cheddar cheese ( can substitute reduced fat)
    • ¼ cup dried cranberries
    • ¼ cup diced tomatoes
    • 2 cups lettuce

    Instructions

      To Make the Sauce:
    1. In a small saucepan mix together the Frank's Hot Sauce, brown, raw or coconut sugar and water. Heat on medium heat until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Store extra sauce in a small mason jar or airtight container for up to two weeks.
    2. To Make the Dressing:
    3. In a small bowl, mix together the ranch dressing and 4-5 tablespoons of Winger's sauce to taste. Set aside for later use.
    4. To Make the Salad:
    5. In a small plastic bag, mix together ¼ cup of the Winger's sauce and the chicken breast. Marinate for 30 minutes to 1 hour in the bag. Remove from bag and cook on the stovetop for several minutes to heat. While chicken is heating, arrange lettuce in a salad bowl or on a plate. Sprinkle cheese, craisins and tomatoes on the lettuce. Top with warm cooked chicken and drizzle with dressing.

    Notes

You can substitute the actual Wingers sauce sold online or at Macey's or Harmon's stores (Macey's/Harmon's are grocery stores in Utah/Idaho).
