Five Ingredient Copycat Cracker Barrel Fried Apples

Is there anything better than delicious fried apples? Whether you enjoy these as a dessert or a side dish you'll love each bite of this five ingredient menu with sweet apples and cinnamon. (GF, DF, egg free, nut free, soy free, vegan, vegetarian)
2teaspoonapple pie spice (can substitute 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ½ teaspoon nutmeg, ½ teaspoon allspice)
2tablespooncornstarch or arrowroot powder
Instructions
STOVETOP: On the stovetop set to medium heat, place the apples and two cups of apple juice. Heat on medium heat for approximately 20 minutes. In a separate bowl, add ½ cup apple juice, cornstarch or arrowroot powder, and apple pie spice. Mix to combine, then pour onto the apples in the skillet. Heat until mixture comes to a boil and thickens, then remove mixture from skillet and serve.
PRESSURE COOKER: Place all the ingredients into your pressure cooker according to manufacturer recommendations. Cook for approximately five minutes, then allow a natural release.
SLOW COOKER: Place all ingredients into your slow cooker and cook on high for approximately two hours.

Serving
Cracker Barrel fried apples can be served as a side dish or even as a dessert. At the restaurant the apples are served solo but you could also add some whipped cream or ice cream if you would like! They also taste amazing on top of pork chops or pancakes!

Fried apples can be stored in an airtight container for up to five days.
Freezing
Allow your apples to cool completely. Place apples in a freezer Ziploc bag or airtight container. Label and freeze. Apples will freeze for up to three months.
Reheating
Fried apples can be reheated on the stovetop or microwave.
