Instructions
In a saucepan, combine the strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it comes to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. The mixture will thicken and resemble a syrup.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the strawberry mixture to cool to room temperature. In a separate bowl, mix together the butter and milk until well combined. Add the cooled strawberry mixture to the butter mixture and gently fold them together.
For a thicker texture, you can optionally blend in 1-2 teaspoons of cornstarch or arrowroot powder while mixing the butter. This will help thicken the mixture and create a smoother consistency.
