Gluten Free Microwave Bread

How many times have you wanted a nice hot fresh slice of bread with butter on it fresh out of the oven? How many times have you thought it was impossible with your gluten allergy? Well, no worries now. All you need is a microwave oven and two ingredients!

  • 4 tbsp self rising flour see notes for substitutions
  • 2 tbsp milk see notes for substitutions


  • Lightly grease a cooking mug with cooking spray or oil. Set aside for later use.
  • In a small bowl, stir together the flour and milk until smooth. Pour mixture into cup and smooth.
  • Microwave at 100% power for 30 seconds. Cook an additional 15-30 seconds or until dough rises and the top is cooked. Allow dough to sit in mug for a minute or two then remove and cut dough in half. Make a sandwich with dough or butter the insides of the bread. Serve.



Store fresh, freeze in the freezer or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to two days.
