Craving bread but need something simple and easy? Enjoy this delicious five ingredient pomegranate (or cranberry) white chocolate chip bread with a ribbon of white chocolate drizzled on top. (GF, DF, Egg free)
- 2 cups self rising flour see notes for gluten free and keto self rising flour
- 1 cup butter see notes for substitutions
- ½ cup sweetened condensed milk see notes for substitutions
- ½ cup pomegranate arils or dried cranberries
- ½ cup white chocolate chips see notes for substitutions
Lightly grease a bread pan and set aside. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a mixing bowl, stir together the flour, butter and sweetened condensed milk until smooth.
Fold in the pomegranates and white chocolate chips.
Pour the mixture into the loaf pan and bake for 45-55 minutes or until bread is done. The bread is done when it springs back when lightly touched on top, and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Remove bread from oven and allow to sit in the bread pan for ten minutes, then remove from bread pan and allow to cool completely on a wire rack. Drizzle with additional melted white chocolate if desired.
Self Rising Flour
Self rising flour contains baking powder and some salt. It's a perfect base for many recipes. It can be found at most grocery stores however, if you are looking for gluten free or keto based self rising flour, I provided links to those below to either purchase or easily mix together self rising flour with ingredients you have at home.
Sweetened Condensed Milk
Since this is a sweet bread, you'll want to add sweetened condensed milk. There are now plenty of great dairy free options as well! We love Nature's Charm. They have a coconut based and oatmilk based sweetened condensed milk!
You can usually easily locate their products on their website or at health food stores like Sprouts.
Butter just adds a nice flavor to your bread. Or pretty much anything you eat! You can cut down calories here a little by adding milk instead or doing half bread, half milk but it's still the holidays! Go big!!
Pomegrante vs. Cranberry
This is a matter of personal decision and I'm not getting in the middle so you just pick whatever you like here! This recipe will take either pomegranates or cranberries.
White Chocolate Chips
Use dairy OR dairy free white chocolate chips here.
There are several ways to bake this bread. You can make muffins, mini loaves or regular sized loaves of bread. Bake at 350 degrees and don't forget to lightly grease your muffin and loaf pans.
Cooking time is:
- 8x4 inch bread pan: 35-40 minutes
- 9x5 inch bread pan: 45-55 minutes
This bread can be stored for several days in an airtight container or in the freezer in a ziploc bag or airtight container for about a month. If you drizzle your loaves in white chocolate, please note that the chocolate may change texture/color slightly in storage.
