Healthy candied pecans made with coconut sugar offer a healthier alternative to traditional candied pecans. They provide a treat with potential nutritional benefits but the same traditional sweet and aromatic taste you love!
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
In a small bowl, combine the cinnamon and salt.
In a large bowl, combine the egg white, vanilla and water, whisking until frothy. Add in the sugar, than allow to sit for 1-2 minutes to allow the sugar to dissolve. Add in the pecans and cinnamon mixture, continuing to stir until combined and pecans are well coated.
Pour the pecans onto the baking sheet and spread out. Bake at 300 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Stir every 15 minutes to allow for even baking.
Remove from oven when pecan mixture has hardened. (Be careful not to allow too long of baking or they will burn!) Allow the pecans to cool on the baking sheet, then move to an airtight container to store. The pecans will stay good for up to one month.
Notes
Store cooled pecans in an airtight container for up to one week.
