Reserve 3 oz of chocolate chips and set aside 3 cups of marshmallows.
In a saucepan, melt butter and six cups of mini marshmallows over low heat, stirring continuously until fully melted. Remove from heat and incorporate five ounces of chocolate, stirring until it melts completely. Add the cereal, ensuring a thorough mix. Introduce 3 cups of marshmallows, which will remain whole and not melt.
Evenly pour and press the mixture into a 9x13 inch pan. Sprinkle and gently press the reserved chocolate chips evenly over the mixture. Allow the bars to cool for several hours before cutting them into squares.

For storage: Keep the bars in an airtight container for several days.This recipe yields 12-16 bars.Substitutions: For a gluten free version, use gluten free Golden Grahams cereal. To make a vegan and dairy free version use dairy free butter, vegan marshmallows and dairy free chocolate chips.
