What is It?
Colitis is an inflammation of the colon. A person may suffer from acute or long term conditions. There are various type of stomach conditions that may mimic or fall under colitis including:
- Microscopic colitis
- Irritable bowel syndrome
- Irritable bowl disease
- Crohns
- Non ulcerative colitis
- Ulcerative colitis
What to Eat During A Colitis Flare Up
Knowing what you can eat during a colitis flare up can be difficult. And it also might be very individual. One of my go to meals is chicken and rice. But I make it very mild on the stomach by tossing it in the rice cooker!
Getting Started
I will take some cooked, diced chicken breast or rotisserie chicken and place my desired amount in the rice cooker. Then I add rice, water, cover and boil until done. I'll mix it together when done and eat. It's nice and mild and doesn't seem to hurt my stomach!
