    Ingredients

For this recipe you will need:

    • chicken drummettes or drumsticks
    • oil
    • Salt
    • Ground pepper
    • butter
    • honey
    • garlic
    • parsley
    • parmesan cheese
    • red pepper flakes (optional)
    • Ranch dressing for dipping, optional

Instructions for Making Garlic Chicken Drumsticks

    1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Toss the chicken in the oil, then sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
    2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Place a cooling rack over the baking sheet. Line the wire rack with the chicken. Bake the chicken until almost golden and thoroughly cooked through, approximately 30-35 minutes.
    3. During the last few minutes cooking, make the sauce. In a bowl stir together the melted butter, honey, garlic, parsley, red flakes and parmesan. Toss the chicken in the mixture, than place in the oven an additional 10-15 minutes until golden brown and cooked thoroughly Dip in ranch dressing to serve if desired.

    Tips

    1. Even Coating: Ensure the marinade evenly coats the chicken drumsticks. Use a zip-top bag or a bowl with a lid for marination to evenly distribute the flavors.
    2. Cooking Temperature and Time: Bake or grill the drumsticks at the right temperature and for the recommended time to avoid overcooking or undercooking. An internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) ensures the chicken is safe to eat.
    3. Turn and Baste: If baking or grilling, turn the drumsticks halfway through cooking for even browning. Baste the drumsticks with the marinade or juices while cooking to keep them moist and flavorful.
    4. Rest Before Serving: Allow the cooked drumsticks to rest for a few minutes before serving. This helps the juices redistribute within the meat, resulting in juicier chicken.

    Substitutions

There may be need to make this recipe to better suit dietary preferences, intolerances or allergies.

    • Gluten free: This recipe is naturally gluten free already. You won't need to make any substitutions.
    • Dairy free: You can make this recipe dairy free by using dairy free parmesan cheese along with dairy free butter.

    Storing

These chicken drumsticks are best served hot and fresh.
