This easy LOL surprise doll birthday cake is a beautiful but simple way to make your child's birthday special!

This weekend was the Superbowl and a birthday. My daughter was so excited to surprise her friend with an LOL surprise doll party. Being in school, I wanted to minimize the amount of time that I spent in the kitchen this Superbowl. I was tired and I had a lot of homework due. And the house was a train wreck and needed some serious TLC.

We decided to do this cake simple. I really wanted an easy LOL surprise doll birthday cake. I saw a lot of beautiful, ornate cakes, but nothing that would be easy. But then I found it! Here are the directions for making your own simple and easy LOL surprise doll cake.

How to Make an Easy LOL Surprise Doll Birthday Cake

1 box Funfetti cake mix (we used Pillsbury Gluten Free Funfetti Cake Mix--I usually try to go healthier, but was in a hurry and it's a birthday! You can< try this cake mix if you are looking for organic ingredients).

    1 printable cake topper

    Popsicle or skewer sticks

    Sprinkles

Make cake in (2) 8x8 inch pans. Allow cakes to cool, then frost as a double layer cake. Decorate with sprinkles or as desired.

Purchase, print and assemble the cake topper with skewer or popsicle sticks.

    Serve.

Okay, everyone knows that last night was the Superbowl. I am SO GLAD THE EAGLES WON. (I was just tired of the Patriots winning). But it was also a birthday for us too. So it was fun to combine it all into one. Nothing is better than football plates and LOL cake.

We decided to go for steaks (special thanks to my buff grill chef who made the food for us in the cold)

and some tator tots with our favorite cheese sauce. I balanced it out with a salad. And dessert.

The cake was enjoyed for dessert but also some lemon sugar cookies and our red velvet cookies with melted white chocolate drizzled on top.

We hope you had a great Superbowl!
