    Frequently Asked Questions

What type of almond butter should I use?

You can use any type of almond butter you like, but I recommend using a smooth almond butter with no added sugar or salt. This will give you the best flavor and texture.

Can I use chunky almond butter?

Yes, you can use chunky almond butter to make almond butter chips, but the chips will have a more textured appearance. The chunks of almonds may also make it more difficult to pipe the chips onto a baking sheet.

How do I prevent my almond butter chips from crumbling when I pipe them onto a baking sheet?

To prevent your almond butter chips from crumbling, make sure the almond butter is not too dry. Add a little milk or water to the almond butter if it is too dry. You can also chill the almond butter in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before piping the chips onto the baking sheet.

How long can I store homemade almond butter chips?

Homemade almond butter chips can be stored in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Can I substitute other nut butters for almond butter to make nut butter chips?

Yes, you can substitute other nut butters for almond butter to make almond butter chips. However, the flavor of the chips will be different. For example, cashew butter chips will have a more mild flavor, while peanut butter chips will have a more intense flavor.

Almond butter chips add a touch of nutty flavor and health benefits to a wide range of dishes. Their versatility, flavor, and texture make them a must-have ingredient. If you love these try them by substituting almond chips for the peanut butter chips in these peanut butter white chocolate fluffernutter recipe, or in some protein breakfast cookies. You can even throw a handful into chocolate trail mix!

JUST A NOTE: These chips melt VERY fast. Keep them in the freezer until you are ready to use them in your recipe or eat. Unfortunately, they can melt at room temperature if left out for an extended period of time.

These look great! Can I use cacao butter as a direct substitute for better stability at room temperature?

Yes, you absolutely could try cacao butter. At the time of writing it, cacao butter was really hard to find where I live but I think it would work well. Let me know how it goes!
