There are plenty of items available to eat for those with gluten sensitivities. They also offer around ten vegan menu items as well as items that are nut free, egg free, and dairy free.
Ingredients
Cracker Barrel chicken tenders contain four ingredients including:
- Chicken tenders
- Italian dressing
- Honey
- Lime
FODMAP Friendly?
While honey is not technically FODMAP friendly, in small amounts many on the FODMAP diet can tolerate honey. Where it's part of a marinade, it would be considered a small amount.
Cooking
Chicken tenders can be cooked in a couple of different ways:
Grill
Grilling is the most popular method. After marinading, cook tenders on a grill on medium heat or stovetop grill on medium heat for several minutes, then flip the chicken tenders over and continue cooking until chicken is no longer pink in the center and cooked thoroughly.
Broil
Heat broiler to high. After marinating, arrange chicken on baking sheet. Place chicken under broiler for several minutes. Flip chicken and cook for several more minutes until chicken is cooked thoroughly and no longer pink in the center.
Storage
Cracker Barrel chicken tenders can be stored in an airtight container for up to two days.
Sides
There are some wonderful sides that can be served with Cracker Barrel chicken tenders including mexican rice, fried apples, or rolls.
You can also use chicken tenders in a salad for a next day lunch.
Four Ingredient Cracker Barrel Chicken Tenders
Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken tenders
- ½ cup italian dressing
- 1 teaspoon lime juice
- 2 teaspoon honey
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the Italian dressing, honey and lime.
- Place the chicken in the marinade. Allow marinade to sit for 30 minutes to one hour. Cook.
