One of the big questions I know is coming is can dogs have pumpkin? It’s actually really good for them. Pumpkin for dogs aides in the help of diarrhea and constipation. Just like anything though, be careful to feed in small doses. Pumpkin contains a lot of Vitamin A which in large doses can be bad for dogs. If you have one dog you can freeze these pancakes and reheat for future meals.

Dog Pumpkin Pancakes

Yield: 6 pancakes

Serving Size: 1 pancake

  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tbsp water
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 8 tbsp pumpkin puree
  • 4 tbsp oat flour or whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ginger
  • Dash ground cloves
  • Dash ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • Pinch of salt

  1. Preheat griddle to manufacturers suggested heat for pancakes. (We do 275-300 degrees)
  2. In a bowl, mix all ingredients together until smooth.
  3. Drop approximately 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake onto the griddle
  4. Heat until pancake becomes formed on the edges and bubbly in the center. Flip, cook for an additional couple of minutes until pancakes are thoroughly cooked inside. Remove from griddle, serve.
  5. Freeze additional pancakes in Ziploc freezer bag or airtight container for up to two weeks.

*PS I am NOT a dog breed expert and these pancakes may not be great for all dog breeds. Always check with your vet if you have questions about your dogs diet before serving them something new.
