ingredients you will need for making air fryer salmon
    • Salmon fillets
    • Avocado oil
    • Salt & Pepper
    • Parsley flakes
    • Zest of one fresh lemon
    • Fresh lemon wedges, for serving (optional)

    Instructions

It's very simple to make air fryer frozen salmon fillets. It takes just a few simple steps:

brush air fryer salmon with avocado oil

Brush both sides of your salmon fillets with avocado oil.

    zest lemon over salmon fillets

Season your salmon fillets with salt and pepper and lemon zest.

arrange salmon fillets skin side down in the air fryer

Place the salmon fillets in the air fryer, skin side down.

cook salmon fillets in the air fryer then sprinkle with parsley and garnish with a lemon wedge

Cook, then remove salmon fillets from the air fryer and garnish with parsley and lemon wedges before serving.

Begin by preheating your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for approximately 5 minutes.

Using a paper towel, gently pat the salmon fillets dry to eliminate any excess moisture.

Brush both sides of the salmon fillets with avocado oil. Evenly season the fillets with salt and black pepper, ensuring thorough coverage. Grate fresh lemon zest over the salmon fillets, distributing it evenly for enhanced flavor. Arrange the salmon fillets in a single layer within the air fryer basket, skin-side down.

Air fry the salmon for 7-10 minutes (10-12 minutes for frozen salmon fillets) or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) and the flesh is opaque and easily flakes with a fork. Once cooked, carefully remove the salmon from the air fryer and allow it to rest for a few minutes. Serve your air fryer salmon with fresh lemon wedges on the side and a sprinkle of parsley.

    Substitutions

This recipe is naturally gluten free and dairy free. You can substitute the avocado oil if you want, but avocado oil works best against the temperature of the air fryer.

    Variations

Try using some different spices and herbs! Try our 5 ingredient rosemary lemon salmon to change things up!

    Equipment

I love my air fryer! We have a double sided air fryer that works perfect for our family. I can cook the salmon fillets on one side of the air fryer, then make some roasted okra fries on the other side.

    Storage

If you have any leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. You can enjoy them cold or gently reheat them in the microwave or oven. To reheat salmon in the air fryer, cook at 400 degrees for 2-3 minutes until heated through.

    FAQ

Can you reheat salmon in air fryer?

To reheat salmon in the air fryer, preheat your oven to 400 degrees then cook for 2-3 minutes in the air fryer until heated through.

Can I use fresh salmon instead of frozen?

Absolutely! If you have fresh salmon on hand, you can use it instead of frozen. Just adjust the cooking time accordingly, as fresh salmon typically cooks faster than frozen.

How do I prevent the salmon from sticking to the air fryer basket?

To prevent sticking, you can lightly coat the air fryer basket with cooking spray or brush it with a little oil before placing the salmon fillets inside.

Can I cook other types of fish using this method?

Absolutely! While this recipe focuses on salmon, you can use the same method to cook other types of fish fillets, such as cod, tilapia, or trout. Just adjust the cooking time accordingly based on the thickness of the fillets.
