This is an easy and simple recipe that only requires a few ingredients. For ease, you can use a cake mix and a cake pop mold. For making these chocolate truffles you will need:
- chocolate cake mix
- eggs
- oil
- milk
- melting chocolates
- sprinkles and other food decorations for decorating (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray cake pop molds with cooking spray.
- In a bowl, stir together the cake mix, eggs, oil and milk until smooth. Spoon mixture into the bottom cake pop molds. Place the top cake pop mold on top and seal.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees or until cake lightly springs back when pressed with a finger. Remove from oven and allow to cool for several minutes in the cake pop mold before removing the cake from mold. For faster cooling time and for ease of dipping, once cake is removed you can place cake in the freezer for several minutes.
- once cake pops have cooled, melt the chocolate according to package directions. With a fork inserted into the cake pop, dip the cake into the chocolate, covering completely. Allow excess to drip off, then place cake pops to set on a sheet of wax paper. Decorate with sprinkles.
- Serve when chocolate has set.

- Once you've cooked the cake in the cake molds, remove them once they've had a few minutes out of the oven. Then freeze the cake and dip them in the chocolate while cold.
- Use a fork to dip your cake into the chocolate.
- Since these cake pops are a little bit harder to dip into the melting chocolate since you are using a cake pop mold, you can thin the melting chocolate a little bit using the instructions on the back of the melting chocolate package for thinning.
- For faster setting time, place decorated truffles in the refrigerator or freezer.
