    Pizza sticks are a tasty snack that can be enjoyed by anyone! With just five simple ingredients, you can create a meal that's perfect for parties, school lunches, game nights, or simply as a quick snack!

    Making pizza sticks

    While a little bit of a labor of love, these pizza sticks are fun to dunk in marinara, ranch or other dipping sauce. They are a fun idea for school lunches and parties. You can also make a large batch ahead of time and freeze them.

    Ingredients

    Only a few ingredients are needed for this amazingly easy recipe including:

    • Self rising flour
    • Yogurt
    • Sugar
    • Cheese
    • Pepperoni and Pizza Sauce (optional)

    Instructions

    • Mix together the flour, greek yogurt and sugar to form a ball. Divide the dough into approximately 8 balls.
    • Roll each dough piece into a rope approximately ¼-1/2 inch thick. Cut in half, then twist.
    • Brush dough with water then roll in pepperoni and cheese. Place dough on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
    • While you are rolling dough, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Once all dough is arranged on the cookie sheet, bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes, or until pizza dough is lightly browned and cheese is melted.
    • Remove from oven, serve pizza sticks with warm marinara pizza sauce.

    Substitutions

    We get that sometimes you're going to need some substitutions to fit your dietary needs. This recipe is easily adaptable no matter what your dietary needs! The recipe is already nut free and soy free but you can make it gluten free and dairy free too!

    • Gluten free: To make this recipe gluten free, use gluten free self rising flour.
    • Low carb: You can make your pizza sticks low carb by using keto self rising flour. You can also substitute the sugar with a sugar substitute.
    • Vegan: Making your bread vegan is simple! Just use a plant based yogurt and cheese! If you use pepperoni, make sure to use a plant based pepperoni.
    • Dairy free: Make your recipe dairy free by substituting dairy free yogurt and cheese.

    Adapting this recipe for school lunches

    Aside from marinara sauce, you can serve pizza sticks with ranch dressing, garlic butter, pesto, or even a spicy sriracha mayo for a different flavor experience.

    Storage

    It's SO simple an easy to store your pizza sticks. Just place cooked and cooled pizza sticks in an airtight Ziploc container in the freezer for up to one month, or in the fridge in an airtight container for up to three days. Reheat them in the oven or microwave before serving.

    Can I use different types of cheese?

    Absolutely! While mozzarella is a classic choice, you can experiment with different cheeses like cheddar, parmesan, spicy pepper jack, or mixed cheese combinations.

    Can I add fresh herbs to the pizza sticks?

    Fresh herbs like basil, oregano, or parsley can be added to the cheese or sprinkled on top of the pizza sticks before baking for added flavor and aroma.

    Ingredients
      

    • 1 ¾ cup self rising flour
    • 1 cup greek yogurt
    • 1 teaspoon sugar
    • 2 cups shredded cheese mozzarella, cheddar, parmesan, etc.
    • ½ cup pepperoni bites optional

    Instructions
     

    • Prepare the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, Greek yogurt, and sugar until a dough forms. Divide the dough into approximately 8 equal pieces.
    • Shape the Dough: Roll each piece of dough into a rope about ¼-1/2 inch thick. Cut each rope in half, then twist the halves together.
    • Coat with Toppings: Brush each twisted dough with water, then roll in the pepperoni and cheese mixture to coat.
    • Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the coated dough twists on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
    • Preheat the Oven: While you are preparing the dough twists, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
    • Bake: Once all the dough twists are arranged on the cookie sheet, bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the pizza dough is lightly browned and the cheese is melted.
    • Serve: Remove from the oven and serve the pizza sticks warm with marinara sauce for dipping. Enjoy!
