One of our most popular recipes on our site is our Golden Graham cereal bars. And one of the biggest questions I get asked about are either where to make or where to find gluten free Golden Grahams.
These homemade Golden Grahams are perfect for breakfast or as a snack. They are great to substitute in our cereal bar recipe. While not 5 ingredients, they are great to make and have around to munch on or to use in recipes if needed.
This cereal would taste perfect with our air fryer bacon for a delicious breakfast!

Are Golden Grahams gluten free?
Gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye, poses a challenge for individuals with gluten sensitivities or celiac disease. The boxed cereal recipe contains gluten.
Purchasing gluten free Golden Grahams
At the time of the writing of this article I could not find any gluten free graham cereal at stores. There are several brands that are close though.
If you're in a pinch and want to make gluten free Golden Graham cereal bars, you could substitute graham crackers. I would recommend the Schar brand as they are the thinnest.
If you're looking to purchase gluten free Golden Grahams, there are some brands that are close including this keto Golden Graham cereal, and this gluten free vanilla crunch cereal.
Ingredients
If you are making your own gluten free Golden Grahams, you will need:
- gluten free flour
- gluten free graham crackers, finely crushed
- oil
- brown sugar
- molasses
- honey
- milk
- water
- vanilla
- cinnamon
- baking soda
- baking powder
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper. In a mixing bowl, stir together the ingredients until combined. The dough will be soft. Spread the dough onto the cookie sheet, spreading to ⅛-1/4 inch thickness. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and with a pizza cutter slice dough into small squares. Stir the cereal then place back into the oven and cook an additional 10-15 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool before storing.
Substitutions
For a vegan version you can substitute honey for maple syrup. This recipe is naturally dairy free.
Variations
There are a number of variations that can be made including:
- Chocolate or Caramel: Drizzle cereal with melted chocolate or caramel to make breakfast into dessert!
- Fruit and Nuts: Serve your cereal with fruit and nuts.
Equipment
You will need parchment paper and a good rolling pin. I've also had luck getting nice thin graham cereal using a tortilla press. Place your dough in between two pieces of parchment paper, then press in the tortilla press. You'll want to adjust cooking times depending on the thickness.
Storage
You can store your graham crackers in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
