    Your Top 10 Favorite Recipes of 2016

    This year has brought a lot of changes for our family and while a lot of it hasn't made it onto this website, we are grateful for the support you have shown to our family. This is one of my favorite times of the year. I love looking back and seeing what YOUR favorite recipes were of the year.

    #10: Under an Hour White Bread Recipe

    This is one of my favorite recipes and I use it all the time for rolls, bread, cinnamon bread and pizza dough. I'm so glad it's becoming one of your favorite recipes too.

    #9: Zupa's Garden Chowder

    Zupa's is a delicious little cafe style restaurant that serves wonderful soups, salads and sandwiches. This garden chowder is rarely on the menu anymore but when I tried it, I loved it and had to recreate it at home. The combination of the tomatoes and zucchini give it the nickname "Christmas Chowder" but I love the creamy texture and subtle hints of parmesan and basil.

    #8: Cinnamon Pie

    Pouring this pie into the crust I had some doubts but it's a cinnamon pie! Cinnamon! One of the best flavors in the world! I didn't need to doubt because once the fork entered my mouth it was love at first bite.

    #7: How To Bake With Coconut Sugar

    This is the most popular tutorial on our website and clearly for good reason. I bake a lot with coconut sugar and I'm also terrible at remembering all those little tips and tricks I was using to work with it. So I wrote them down, not even thinking that it would be as popular as it has become. It has and I LOVE all your questions and challenges.

    #6: Little Caesar's Italian Cheese Bread Recipe

    This year, this recipe has climbed to one of our website's most popular copycat recipes. It captures the rich buttery bread taste that makes the Italian Cheese Bread famous with the tang of garlicky goodness. It's the perfect weekend indulgence without all of the chemicals and preservatives that the store has.

    #5: Frosted Flake Rice Krispie Treats

    These are so sweet and delicious and gooey that you can't just stop with a handful. The kids can never wait for these to cool off before they have an all out war over them. Forks are grabbed and lines are drawn in the treats and they become divided and conquered in a matter of minutes.

    #4: Crockpot Maple Dijon Chicken and Rice 

    When I first got sick and had to stop eating almost EVERYTHING for awhile, I remember just being STARVING for a meal that had some taste. I was at a point that I missed Mexican food and just wanted some flavor. I came across this FODMAP friendly recipe that fit into what I could eat and my family and I fell in love with it. It's now a staple in our home and perfect for busy nights or Sunday dinner.

    #3: Baked Churros

    This is one of the most popular recipes on our website for YEARS now. It's also one of the best and I revamped it just a little to make it AMAZING. I highly suggest trying these if you haven't already. It's one of my favorite desserts.

    #2: Zupa's Chicken Enchilada Chili 

    Yes, another Zupa's recipe so it MUST be good! This is our favorite recipe and we make it all the time at our house. A delicious creamy soup that is full of rich flavors. If you haven't had enchiladas in soup form, you will absolutely fall in love!

    #1: Wicked White Chicken Chili

    This chili is packed full of flavor and rich spices. It's an amazing chili that's thick and hearty on cold winter nights.

    I've been making over recipes since I was ten. Back then I wasn't so great at it and created everything from rubber cakes for my Dad's birthday to rock muffins that put a hole in the wall.

    Diagnosed with colitis ten years ago and with three young children I had to learn to cook. But life was busy and there wasn't a lot of time to cook or figure out what I could eat!

    Burnt Apple became my personal coffee shop--a place to share, talk and vent! I share minimal ingredient recipes with five ingredients or less and ready in under thirty minutes!
